Buddy Bears were introduced to us by our very own Bonnie Anthony.  Shortly after the death of her father, Bud, she helped her mother sort through her father’s clothing. Family members kept a "special" article of clothing that reminded them of Bud and she kept her dad’s favorite flannel shirt. The shirt hung in her closet for over a year until she decided that she wanted to somehow display the shirt, so she decided to make a stuffed bear from the shirt. The bear now has a place of honor in her home and is a constant reminder of the love she shared with her dad. She named the bears, "Buddy Bears" in honor of her dad, Bud. We are pleased to share Buddy Bears with other families who may find comfort in having a handcrafted bear in honor of their loved one. Buddy Bears are handcrafted from personal clothing belonging to your loved one. Each bear will have your loved ones initials hand sewn on the chest, making your bear unique and a treasured keepsake. The handcrafted bears are transformed from special garments into family heirloom bears. Each bear is as unique as the person who the bear represents. They are very lovable and huggable, and can be very comforting. Buddy Bears can be made from a woman’s favorite dress, long sleeve shirt, bathrobe or nightgown; a man’s shirt, robe, long sleeve shirt, wool blazer or sweatshirt; a child’s blanket. Each bear has contrasting felt fabric used for the ear lining and footpads and a coordinating collar or decorative ribbon.

Buddy Bears are available in three sizes, 15", 18" and 22" The size of the personal clothing required for each bear: 15" bear is equal to a medium woman’s shirt; 18" bear is equal to a man’s medium shirt; 22" bear is equal to a man’s large or extra large shirt.
