The pathway of bereavement can be a long, winding and often perplexing road, marked by sharp turns, dark passes and steep hills. What we most need, you will learn through this workshop, is a roadmap and compass to help direct our steps on this journey. A loved one's death challenges us on every level—emotional, physical, social, mental and spiritual. While we experience many losses in life, the loss of a loved one seems different than any loss so far and perhaps you find that friends are unsure what to say and how to help. During the darkest nights of grief, the questions pour out:
• How long should I expect my grief to last?
• What steps can I take to get through my grief?
• Is it possible I'm really okay after all?
• For what "danger signs" should I be watching in myself and family members?
• What if my faith has been shattered by this loss?
In this fast-paced, practical and informative seminar, you can expect to find answers to these and many other questions. We have invited Dr. Bill Hoy, a grief counselor and university educator to lead this workshop. In addition to having worked through his own losses, Dr. Hoy has been walking with the bereaved for more than 25 years.
